Where are the Red Cross First Aid Station (FAST) Teams? 2018-03-05T09:54:19-07:00

The American Red Cross of King & Kitsap County First Aid Station Teams, also know as FAST have pressed the “pause” button.  CEO Thomas Bliss was a grateful member of the team for three years prior to the shutdown.  It is uncertain if the stations will reactivate any time soon.  NWFA personnel have worked many of the Washington State events previously serviced by FAST.  If your event was supported by FAST please give us a call or drop us a line, we will be happy to bring a station to your next event.

If transportation is necessary; we will utilize the 911 system to notify the ambulance or fire department.

Why use NWFA and not just the fire department? 2015-06-16T19:44:55-07:00

Northwest Standby First Aid Teams consist of trained EMRs & EMTs.  We can handle virtually any medical emergency that may arise at your event. The Fire Department could very well be called to an emergency and the FD Medics would need to transport an event patron which would leave your area uncovered.  NWFA will never leave your event to answer another emergency call; we are there from beginning to end.

Northwest First Aid offers certified First Aid, CPR/AED training through our parent company Northwest Response.  Pre-event on-site (day of the event) awareness training is available free of charge for all event personnel to cover the basics for medical response.  Most briefings are held pre-event for the purposes of understanding response procedures, when to call the station team, or when to call 911.  On-site briefings are usually completed within 10-20 minutes.

Hiring Standby EMS may be a preference, or it may be a city, county or state requirement.
